Topic: Basics on negotiations
Is sales a profession? It certainly is. How many salespersons are there in BLISS?
You want to make a guess? No-brainer, isn't it?
Well, isn't it unfair that there are no sales divisions in the college? Professors simply don't teach that. Hum…does that imply sales is not a subject that can be taught or learned?
The same question goes to purchasing.
People do selling and buying day in and day out. Or, let me put it in the other way, people do bargaining day in and day out.
In a more fancy term, people NEGOTIATE all the time.
Well, it's not a rocket science. Just as management is but a quasi-science, one "only" finds gazillions of books and articles talking about how to negotiate and how to manage. Yeah, overwhelmingly!
Let's see some of the basics on negotiation. Is there any magic in it? Perhaps. Is it in anyway scientific? You may be surprised.
Would you become a better negotiator in business or in any other daily activities if you learn more about the basic skills? I can promise you this much--you will be more aware of what're behind all negotiations, big ones and trivial ones, bright and dark sides. And, that will force you to think more and want to know more.
See. To do selling is fun. To do purchasing is a lot of fun. To negotiate with a little bit of knowledge is a way to nirvana—the heavenly fun.
Last but not least, it's not only about money. Money is but a side-dish coming after hands and is only a tiny piece of the entire fun tour.
