<Bliss Recap of “Hang Son Doong, the Largest Cave in the World” by Wisely on Sep. 21, 2019>

Date: Sep. 21, 2019

Host: Wisely

Topic: “Hang Son Doong, the Largest Cave in the World”

Attendees: Host Wisely, Melody, Magic Johnson, Ellen Huang and Annie

Meeting photo: https://photos.app.goo.gl/GBCc43JT6369CBjs

Wisely’s Adventure started~

After sharing our own adventure experiences during warm-up section, Wisely guided us on to his stunning Vietnam expedition to Han Son Doong~

Why the tour of NT$100,000 is worthwhile?

1.       It provides 30 local staff/porters carrying the mountaineering tools such as ladders, power generators, tables, chairs, even water closets, and a tour guide only to serve 10 tourists!

2.      Han Son Doong Cave is officially confirmed as the world’ largest cave, at 5.5 miles long and 650 ft. wide. It is made up of at least 150 individual caves with its own lake, river and jungle.

3.      It was created 2~5 million years ago by river water eroding away the limestone underneath the mountains and forming limestone pavements, stalagmites, sink holes and raging rivers. The scenario put everyone virtually in the movie settings of Jurassic Park or The Lord of the Rings, or even Garden of Eden!

4.      Only one tour agency, Oxalis, gets government-certificate to arrange the mystical cave itinerary following LNT rules and sharing the profits to the local aborigines!

5.      It was hidden among the jungle until one day in 1991, a local farmer stumbled across it for a shelter from a storm accidentally and then in 2009 with help of British cavers he confirmed the finding!

Attendees’ Feedback:

1.      Dear Wisely , thank you for another inspiring meeting share with Blissers today again, the adventure is amazing and open up our eyes and minds, your adventure recalls mine in Taiwan too,  I love the shared idea of leave no trace (LNT) 無痕山林 globally also, feedbacks of the earnings to local people ~ I will definitely share your meeting with my aboriginal friend and let you know his comments ( ^^)

by the way, take this chance, I will definitely set my goal to increase your attendance rate in Bliss in 2020, I feel very touched too you recording each of your meeting and attendance rate in Bliss year by year ~ we are so lucky to have you, always trying to inspire us from different big moments in your life (love) all the best to you for your next big movement, career and life!!

2.      This quote, “reach out and touch someone”, is surely in this internet world talking us into putting tablets and cell gadgets award, in order to renew mankind relationship.

Who I will feel inspired? Celebrities, gurus or religious mentors?  Nay, he or she would be from our surroundings.  Given we are ordinary people with passion and enthusiasm; we thought celebs are super ones to enlighten us.

But that’s not quite true.

Out of today’s gathering, I think life awakenings are very often from unsung figures.  Wisely, our young n talented host set the tone today about adventure.  Not only were the cave slides and photo book fascinating but his well-prepared presentation and free interaction added an impact on us.  Wisely surely did very well.  So it attests to me reaching out and talking to someone is one of the ways to blow off some steam and to come up with new solution.

It is truly thought-provoking and mostly challenges our imaginative strengths.   How could we be inquisitive punching out questions in terms of day and night feel, animal or species, or even wondering of dinosaurs?

Digital world may be awesome but lacking soul searching, however, the new world “Mother Nature” can be worth further.

Reflections:

It is a very refreshing touring experience with Host Wisely, who brings his topography and trekking charts for clear explanation so that we fell into the native heaven of the ancient times with him. Host Wisely took the expedition to convince us that there is so much in Nature to await us to explore! Thank you so much, Wisely, who spares his precious time to Bliss from the squeezing timetable of preparing his wedding and jobs. We are so touched and give all our best to him!!! Stay tune~
