Hi, dear Blissers,
 
Next Saturday(2011 March 12), we will have the second time of the series meeting in 2011 -  "Article reading & discussion” for the purpose of learning English.  Everyone knows studying and learning English is painful sometimes (at least for me).  Therefore, I will make the meeting more painful for you.  In my idea you will not learn painfully after my more painful meeting.
 
My meeting is divided into three sections from PM2:00 to PM5:30.  It is a big challenge for me, because my English skill is like Indian with Russian accent.  Why did I know it? Ever Vivian teacher requested me to read and practice English more often and my Uncle Joey told me I am not at his level after they made the English conversation with me in the bliss meeting.   Even though, I still try my best to make it successful. 

In the beginning I will arrange three to four members in one group.  Each group has three to four short essays.  Each short essay is listed ten to twenty sentences only.  After fifteen minutes, each member for every group would recite or repeat the article one by one.  The winner is the one who makes less mistakes, and he / she / the group can get one point. 
 
The next part will be the reading examination.  Every group would have the same lengthy article from me.  After reading it at all, every group is going to complete ten to fifteen questions.  The winner is the one who is able to get all correct answers.  Of course, the group can get one point.
 
The last section is going to read the jokes.  In Bliss history, no one could hold the meeting about jokes successfully.  Jokes are not funny and welcome in Bliss meeting.  Indian People said “Who will enter the hell if I don't?” and “Go deep into the mountains, knowing well that there are tigers there - go on undeterred by the dangers ahead”.  Therefore, I decide to break the record.  In this section, we would share the jokes including my prepared twenty jokes with you each other.
 
If possible, please read in advance and bring this article to the meeting.  On that day, the meeting agenda is following.  You can have fruitful feeling on the reciting, reading ability & jokes after this meeting.

Dear Friends,
 
The topic I am going to present is etiquette.
 
Etiquette is considered as rules for correct or polite behavior between people, or within certain professions.It is conventional but unwritten code of practice followed by us. Ever since we were born, we practice etiquette in most occasions throughout our life.
 
In this coming Bliss Meeting on March 5, I would like to discuss the principal and practice of etiquette with you. At the last part of our meeting, I like to hear something from you. So please prepare a short story about things related to etiquette, especially those are different from what we commonly know a cultural custom, etiquette of foreign countries or regions.
 
Here is what I like to do at our Bliss Meeting:

====Introduction by Joey======

Scrabble is a word game that anybody can play as long as they can spell in the language in which the game is being played. The game is intended to be played by between two and four players. If more than four people are available, they can either team up. We will experience both Individual and Group competition in the meeting.

To begin with, each player draws seven tiles from the bag. The first player makes a word from any or all of their letters and places it on the board, beginning, ending or crossing the central square and replaces the used tiles with a corresponding number of tiles from the bag. Subsequently, players take turns to create a new word (thereby building a crossword on the board), attempting to score as many points as possible.

If you have never ever played Scrabble, this is a meeting you will not miss for sure. If you have practiced Scrabble, this is even a great chance to evaluate yourself.

Happy New Year! How's your holiday? Did you go to a temple to wish for a healthy body, a good job and a happy family? We usually believe God(s) is(are) merciful and will guide us when we are in need.However,in the ancient times,there were Gods with human emotions and their stories were still popular in the modern times.Yes!The topic of this Saturday meeting is about "Greek and Roman Mythology"~!The Host Vivian will share us many mythology,from love stories to famous tragedies,if you'd like to have a wonderful journey in the Greek/Roman times,please come and join us!The meeting place will be Brown Coffee 2F.

Last Saturday we spent an interesting afternoon in Brown coffee! Thanks for Joey's sharing of many useful tips for arranging a business trip abroad and the introduction of India.We also had great sharings from other Blissers: Karl's comments on the relationship between the population,competitiveness and children's education were so touching that I could feel that he is really a good father!Dean and Owen also shared their travel experiences in India and indicated that although most Indian people are poor in material life,they are truly confident of their future.After the serious discussion on India,Owen,Patrick and Joey showed us some advantages and disadvantages of their smart phones,it was really funny!

Happy New Year 2011! I am Vicky,the new education manager of Bliss 2011.It's a whole new start for BLISS and all of YOU~~!
If you'd like to improve your English ability and make friends,don't miss the Bliss meeting this year!

We are glad to have Joey as our first host in 2011,he'd like to share us how he traveled in India with his smart phone(HTC Desire) and will show us the photos in India as well.Are you curious about the emerging market India or are you a fan of smart phone? Come and join us!! Please note we CHANGE the meeting PLACE to Mengta's OFFICE this week,so DO NOT go to Brown Coffee! The map is as attached.Thanks for Mengta's help.

After the meeting,Karl and Ellen invite us to have dinner at 基隆海鮮餐廳(about $400 per H/C. http://www.wretch.cc/blog/ hsiaobao/11497659),which is a little far away,so we'd like to arrange the cars in advance.If you want to join the dinner,please reply to me no later than 8pm this Thursday(Jan. 6th) by email and let me know the number of attendee and how many car seats you need. Moreover,just an advance notice that we will have two kinds of meeting this year,one is the same as we had last year: the host chose a topic and shared the ideas or information with us;from this year we will have another kind of meeting as "Article reading & discussion": Bliss managers will find some interesting articles or case study and release the materials a week before the meeting,please read them in advance,then we will discuss in the meeting.In this kind of meeting,we will more focus on English learning than information sharing;that is,you will have plenty of time practicing your speaking skills! As I had business trip to India last week, while the trip memory is vivid,

I am thinking to share how do I travel with my smart phone in this week meeting.

 

In this meeting, there will be 2 major topics.

 

One is my India business trip.

Start from how do I plan the trip, planet ticket booking,

hotel reservation, itinerary arrangement and things/Pictures worth sharing in the trip.

 

The other is how do I utilize my smart phone in the trip.
