Review of Last Meeting
The meeting of Nov.21 is the very last meeting of 2015.In the end of a year is time to review ourself 
and think about the next step. we can gain something from painful experience.we should learn how to control your feelings(emotion).
Basically, sense of guilty, pressure, tireness, loneliness, bitter.... would make you out of control your emotion) easily drive you nuts or make you lose your temper. Barkely shared some message about how to deal with depression.
For example:accept yourself and avoid complaining, keep relationships, don't worry about the future.
After all, the best way to love yourself is "be all you can be" . besides, "Love all, trust a few, do wrong
to none" is an important principle to show our empathy.

Review of Last Meeting
Today our host Archer who introduced famous TV show of HBO, The Newsroom is an American television political drama series created and principally written by Aaron Sorkin. The series chronicles the behind-the-scenes events at the fictional Atlantis Cable News (ACN) channel.

Will McAvoy: the anchor and managing editor of News Night. A moderate Republican news anchor whose broadcast persona is characterized as unwilling to offend anyone.

At the first episode, Will McAvoy was questioned about “What makes the U.S. the greatest country in the world?” during a seminar. Initially, he did not want to answer the question directly. After his girlfriend gave him hint, he started stating his opinion. He said: “ The first step of recognizing problem is to recognize your fault.”

Therefore, his next step was to recognize his faults that he did not convey the truth and be a responsible news reporter. He then appetized to the public.

Archer started the discussion by raising this question “What makes Taiwan the greatest country?”. Moreover, during the meeting, we also discussed the issues of Telecommunication Policy, Occupy Wall Street, Financial Crisis, and Same-Sex Marriage. Everyone shared opinions and debated those question accordingly.

Thanks for Archer’s hosting today. The Newsroom indeed inspires all the attendees.

Review of Last Meeting
Jessica introduced the organic food in San Francisco, a big agriculture city in U.S, where people enjoy organic food. Not only organic food, but some things, like using recycled utensils to protect the environment. If you want to experience the farm life, you can even go there on the weekend or for 3 days trip. The farmers will prepare a lot of delicious organic cuisine, food introduction, and classes to let you realize how they plant organic food and how to cook. In the meantime, Jessica also introduced the organic food, restaurant, and accommodation when she traveled to Japan. In particular, Jessica’s mother and she have joined the flower arrangement class, each of them has to make the flower arrangement, and to explain the meanings for their flower arrangement. During the meeting, Jessica brought some flowers, leaves, and vases for small groups to get an idea on flower arrangement, and introduced the meaning of it. In addition, we celebrated Joyce’s birthday and enjoyed the birth cake. Thanks for Jessica’s information in terms of the farmer’s  life experience, if you feel bored in the city life, you can try to go to the countryside to experience a natural and healthy organic life style.

Review of Last Meeting
On 10/31 meeting, Kutt shared some basic knowledge of colors to all of us.

At the bigining, Kurt asked us to discuss what's the imagination when you think of color? Then Kurt
explained what's color-Color is the way describe light determine by the nature of the light reflect from
an object, we can'e see color when there is no light source.

Why we define RGB(red/green/blue) are primary colors?Because primary colors are sets of colors
that can be combined to make other colors. And what's secondary colors?The answer is Cyan(G+B),
Yellow(R+G) and Magenta(B+R). The color "white" is a combination of all colors.

Kurt let us understand"pixel", pixel means the number of bits used to represent each pixel in
RGB color. Most of the digital cameras used 5 megapixels or greater. The higher megapixel value,
the better quality of a picture. How many pixels do I need?It depends on what you are doing with the
picture. On a computer or ordinary photos only need 72 pixels, but professional printing need 300 pixels.

We learned fundamental knowledge about color and camera color solution from Kurt's meeting.

Thanks Sheena for leading us to think about Taiwan’s population moves from ‘aging’ to ‘aged’ on Oct. 24th.
Through the article, we understand facing these structural changes in the country’s population, the government realized that it would soon have to tackle issues related to a population with greater numbers of old people, such as rising demand for facilities serving seniors in urban areas. Sheena also introduced the simple dietary therapy and exercises to face aging mentally and physically.

Annie introduced the Greek and Roman Mythology, and each God represents different meaning and symbols from their history and culture. For example, Zeus, the symbol of supreme god of the Olympians, the meaning of Zeus is fathered many characters in mythology; the symbol of Poseidon is the seas and waters, the meaning of it is earthshaker. 
We also understand those Gods’ behaviors are the same as human being, they have emotions which including happy, angry, love, sad and so forth. During the meeting, we have small groups to discuss owns views and do the role play. Thanks Annie for preparing information in details for us to understand clearly about the Greek Mythology.

How to develop a great financial habit is an important issue for personal life when you plan to get married, buy a house, travelling, or retirement. 
Peter shared seven useful tips to us on how to develop great financial habits in order to live a debt-free life. 
During the meeting, Peter led us to draw personal money allocation, including Asset allocation, Major purchase, Retirement, Estate planning, Net worth, Education funding, Insurance, and Cash flow. Everyone also shared his/her own financial allocation and investment experiences.
However, no matter what investment you have, the first step is to save your money regularly, isn’t it??

Thanks for Ellen’s introduction about the articles from The Economist during the meeting on August 22nd. Through the article, Costly Comparison, we learned how to utilize comparison website wisely since price comparison websites would actually cost you more.  

Typically cost comparison websites earn a commission for each shopper who uses them to buy products or service. That referral cost is actually incorporated into the price the consumer gets. Furthermore, some comparison sites also sign contract with retailers and service providers to ensure they have the lowest offers over other comparison websites. Hence, the increased costs offset the saving the consumer acquires, making the comparison costly for consumers.

To be a savvy consumer, according to Mr. Ronayne, this problem could only be avoided if consumers go throughthe trouble of checking every site. Nevertheless, this usually takes more time.

The article also suggests that the authority could run the comparison site itself for the public. For instance, the U.S. government now runs comparison websites for health insurance under the regulation of Obama Healthcare.

Through this meeting, we discuss about how to save time, don’t need to spent more time on searching.

During 8/15 meeting, we learned what’s AI .The search for intelligent machines started long before the computer was invented and it has many different strands that can make it difficult to see how it all fits together.

And we discussed what AI can do in the future, how to classify the tiers, and what special capabilityis on them.

• Tier 1:
- Mechanical pattern simulating human movement.
- Input and out following command.

• Tier 2:

- Can respond to voices, gestures, or any kind of signals.
- Active sensor and feedback with certain level of Intelligence, but still within limited pre-programmed capability.

• Tier 3:
- Limited self-cognition, thinking spontaneously without following basic order.
- Able to identify and judge all incoming information and messages and make self-decision.


• Tier 4:
- Near human similarity in thinking, self-awareness, cognition in full self-control without necessity of any order.

- Have human emotional capability, such as happiness, annoy, anxiety, sorrow, love, hate…etc.

In the end of meeting Patrick made a list on 10 Disappearing Jobs That Won't Exist in 10 Years.

Please also check and read through the article before you join my meeting as we will focus on the content discussion and share / exchange our views toward the article instead of checking the vocabularies .

The first article we’re going to read together is about “ costly comparison” , which I bet most of you have such experience on internet when you plan to buy some stuffs , and do you know those cost comparison website may or is eventually cost us more ? let’s exchange our experience on this and share with us your findings after you read the article

we were so happy to see Sanli on 8/1 and had a chance to hear stories about how she finds job in 
Russia.

Sanli hopes to stay in Russia for a long term, so she have to find job for supporting her living 
expense. She analysis her strength is that she can speak Chinese, English and limited Russian.
She takes this opportunity to get 2 jobs: one is to teach university students learning Chinese and English; another one is be a translator in Huawei Company.

In Russia, finding a job is quite difficult for a foreigner. However, Sanli uses effective and creative
way to apporach the possible key man who can offer her job. Her positive attitude and self-confidence
are key factors in getting jobs successfully.

Sanli make all efforts to pursue her dream, such as having a trip across Siberia by train. Her dream
list really inspired everyone to insist following dream.

Thanks Sanli shared her great experience with us. We wish all her dreams come true and expect 
to meet Sanli very soon. Besides, we do appreciate Jeff offer KTV room and treat us dinner. It's 
an enjoyable and wonderful night!

When you read the topic “How to Make a Mind,” you may interpret that this is some meeting about the mind/spirit encouragement, life enlightenment, or some psychological or mental therapy…The answer is absolutely NOT TRUE. You may go to some somewhere like 張老師 for mental or spiritual sheltering, but certainly not in my meeting.

The Turing test is a test of a machine's ability to exhibit intelligent behavior equivalent to, or indistinguishable from, that of a human. Alan Turing proposed that a human evaluator would judge natural language conversations between a human and a machine that is designed to generate human-like responses. Yes! Smart as you are may already guess out what the meeting topic is about - that’s right - the Artificial Intelligence (AI). What I am going to talk about is not only AI, but also the futuristic vision and the life with Home Robots we are going to treat as our everyday life partner, just like TV, Freezer, Radio, PC, in the very near future.

Review of Last Meeting
In the meeting on7/4, host vivian gave us an opportunity to know more about"stage play".
First, she instroduced the types of play including:comedy、modern drama、opera、musical theatre,tragedy,pantomine(默劇) and farce(笑鬧劇). She showed some video clips as illustration of each type.

Vivian even participated in performing a stage play『communicating doors』in university. This play is a bit of ridiculous and confusing. The communicating doors are in a hotel room, and they allow some characters to travel through time, returning to the same hotel room twenty years ago. 

But not everybody gets transported to the same era, so that only some guys witness a criminal case.
After watching the"communicating doors", we had further dicussions: what have you done that makes you regretted? What would you do to make yourself better if you could go back in time?

At the end, Jeff offered a kind advice to everyone: don't be regretful about something since it's  hard to know how good it is if you really do what you want do do. We should learn lessons from experiences to create a better life.

Review of Last Meeting

Iris's meeting on 6/27 showed us "Joseph: King of Dreams" by DreamWorks Animation.
It is great to  watch a musical animated movie that's not only just a movie but also with profound massage.

The moral of story is "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives."

Thanks for the participants on that day for their valuable feedback.

We had many deep and meaningful discussions with each other such as "if you are feeling life is tough recently, it means you're going up".
This topic cheered us up  and inspired me after meeting.

In the end of the meeting, we sang the song from the movie together.

We really appreciate the opportunity to learn the experience of working-holiday in Australia by Claire last Saturday.

In order to watch her budget, she made her own meal with simple and cheap food.
Since it is not safe for Asian tourists there, she bought a car with her friends. Therefore, they could travel wherever they want  to and ensure their safety even travel in unsafe area.
Furthermore, she discussed deeply the difference between working without permission (黑工) and working with visa (白工). When working without visa, this is illegal but you do not need to pay tax. However, when you work with a working holiday visa (WHV), you need to pay tax, and the tax rate has been increased over years according to the new regulations.

She also introduced the concept of the second WHV (二簽), and how will the new income-tax regulation affect the future WHV holders.
Finally, she shared the beauty of Hamelin Pool Marine Nature Reserve.

As we know, network is a kind of internet connection system, but the topic of network effect is to build a good people relationship (connection). There are three principles on how to build an (effective?) relationship: shamelessness, well-stocked mind, and put effort inthe people you are interested in. During the meeting, we discussed deeply which one is the most important? Why? Can it be used on any occasions?? The most interesting brainstorming is that we try to translate certain phrases from English into Chinese, it is funny to test our Chinese ability.

In the last meeting, the host Kevin introduced a movie"He is just not that into you", it was adapted
from the book of the same name. Kevin showed some clips from the movie and then we had a discussion on how men and women react differently on the similar situation.

This movie is discussing about the relationship between couples. You might think someone as a 
special one, however, that person is just not that into you, if he/she

--Too busy to pick up the phone

We all wish to keep a long-term relationship alive, however human emotion and behavior are complicated.
We often misunderstood the true meaning behind every excuses. It's also necessary
to find a suitable partner to avoid the embarrassment of misreading one's thought. After all. it is important to
examine his or her behavior carefully to know one's true feeling about you.  --

Review of Last Meeting

The main theme of The Little Prince is the importance of looking beneath the surface to find the real truth and meaning of a thing. The little prince also relates his journey to earth, stopping on the way at different asteroids on which grown-ups (a king, a businessman, and a conceited man), appear to him very strangely because of their resolved application to things that are only quantifiable and have no ultimate purpose. He speaks of the time he spent with the fox, learning the art of taming and rites, which turns what is common into a unique relationship. The fox teaches the Prince to see with one’s heart instead of just with one’s eyes. Unfortunately, most adults have difficulty doing this. The story points out how grown-ups can never see the real meaning of a drawing; instead, they look at the surface, failing to probe a deeper meaning.

Review of Last Meeting

The Witcher is a video game based on the book series of the same name by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski.
The main character was originally a human, a child-surprise, who destined to become a witcher. He is fatalist, but he try to keep neutrality and fight with the destiny.


 In a rescue mission, the person who got rescued was actually a bad guy, and Geralt was hurt by that person.

He starts to think back his life and have a conversation with himself (the conversation is in the attachment). 

If you are interested in RPG type of games, you can try to play The Witcher.
