As we know, “Blissers” are the ones who “Learn the world via English, not learn English only! Therefore, in each Bliss Meeting, our hosts always enrich our lives with their distinctive perspectives and life experience, and today’s host, Angel’s friend, Harrison is no exception. Without further undo, welcome to join his meeting on Aug 10, 2019!
Introduction by Harrison:
Ideas:
Travel is a good way to open up your eyes! You can definitely see whichever way you want to see, cultural, historical, political, geographical, etc. For years, I had been traveled throughout most of the western and Asian countries for business. A lot of interesting stories came along with each trip. By sharing these stories, not only that I made a lot of good friends, but, most important of all, I treasure these stories as a part of my life, my memory. Life goes on while stories keep going around…Where is your next stop?
Background introduction:
I have been so interested with learning a new language back in my old days at school. Since I was a child, I like to imitate people talking, mimicking all kind of different sound and keep that as one of my silly hobby, not realize this will be a good feature for picking up a language. A dream of mine was to become a professional actor like Tom Hanks, but then it is too departed away from my life now ever since I engaged myself to electronic business in 2004. Out of my surprise, this also opens another door for me to see the world after I switch my career from journalism to electronic industry! Trained as a journalist, I am definitely not an engineer or anything in technical which my perspective is a bit different from anybody from the electronic business. I like to interact with people and dig things out with my curiosity. Thanks for coming and share stories with me.
Guided questions:
1. What is your experience of learning a language? Any features of your personality help you with that?
2. How do you like to interact with people especially when they are coming from multiple different countries?
3. Like to fit in with different culture and feel the shock? What is your experience with that?
4. Changing from environment to environment can be challenge. Do you have any experience with that? And what your body tells you how to react to those changes?
5. What do you think is the most important feature to become a world traveler?
6. Would you go if there is any chance coming up to you for working in another country or area?
